Congress Takes Up ‘Declaration of Mothers’ as Lawmakers Fight to Restore Traditional Values
Fletcher: “Adopting this resolution will be a huge step toward making America great again.”
Washington, D.C. – Representative Mary Miller (IL-15) introduced a resolution in the U.S. House of Representatives today based on the “Declaration of Mothers,” a foundational document devised by Moms For America, a nationwide network of over 500,000 moms committed to promoting faith, freedom, and family.
“As founder and chair of the Congressional Family Caucus, I’m proud to bring this important document to the attention of the Congress,” Rep. Miller said. “The Left has spent decades demonizing the American family, denying the true source of our natural rights, and usurping the role of mothers and fathers through the nanny state. The principles laid out in the Declaration of Mothers offer a road map for Congress as we undertake the important work of undoing this damage and restoring the family to its proper role in our society.”
“For over 20 years, the Declaration of Mothers has been at the heart of everything we do,” said Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of MFA. “It’s an affirmation of our belief in traditional American values, constitutional principles, and individual liberties — concepts that should be near and dear to the hearts of our lawmakers, but which have sadly been neglected and disregarded for far too long.”
The Declaration of Mothers emphasizes core American values, such as acknowledging that our rights come from God, not government, and that our liberties must be vigorously defended by every generation. It also recognizes the importance of the family in a free society, identifying mothers as “the heart of the home” who “determine the future of a nation, mold its citizens, determine its institutions, and shape its destiny.”
“We’re incredibly grateful to Rep. Miller for her efforts to fight for the American family,” Fletcher said. “Adopting this resolution will be a huge step toward making America great again.”
