Fletcher: “Today, we’re celebrating a giant step toward the more perfect union that our founders envisioned.”
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Moms For America, a nationwide network of over 500,000 moms committed to promoting faith, freedom, and family, is enthusiastically cheering President Trump’s executive order abolishing the Department of Education.
“The Department of Education has become one of the greatest obstacles to quality education in America today,” said Kimberly Fletcher, founder and president of MFA. “Since the ED was established during Jimmy Carter’s administration, educational outcomes in this country have plummeted, and school budgets have become bloated with no discernible benefits to the students themselves.”
Representatives for Moms For America, including Vice President Debbie Kraulidis, were present at the White House to witness President Trump’s signing of the historic Executive Order instructing Secretary of Education Linda McMahon to wind down the department’s operations and transfer responsibility for public education back to the states.
“Education is such a personal experience. What works in one place won’t necessarily work in another,” Kraulidis said. “Turning this responsibility over to state and local governments will ensure that decisions are made based on the needs of individual students and schools, not according to some one-size-fits-all plan cooked up in Washington.”
“Moms For America has been fighting for parental rights, constitutional government, and traditional American values for over 20 years,” Fletcher said. “Today, we’re celebrating a giant step toward the more perfect union that our founders envisioned.”
