Moms for America: "Our children are not yours to raise"
Moms For America, a nationwide network of hundreds of thousands of moms, slammed The New York State Department of Education (NYSED) for advising schools to lie to parents about their children’s sexuality and gender identity.
The “2023 Legal Update and Best Practices” advisory, recently published by NYSED, urges educators not to inform parents about the preferred gender identity of their children in the classroom if they decide to socially transition to the opposite gender. In one example, NYSED outlines how teachers can help hide the student’s transition from the parents: “The teachers call her Kimi and use she/her pronouns at school. When calling home for any reason, teachers use the name Kevin and he/him pronouns.”
Kimberly Fletcher, founder, president, and CEO of Moms For America, issued the following statement in response to the NYSED:
"Radical bureaucrats have no business indoctrinating and grooming children – which is why they are so desperate to hide what happens in the classroom. These children have parents and families. They are not yours to raise.
The recent guidance from the New York State Department of Education is outrageous – but not surprising. This is not the first time we have seen state and local governments push for policies designed to alienate parents and radicalize our children. Schools should not be encouraging students to make life-altering decisions behind their parents’ back.”
Founded in 2004, Moms for America is a national, non-profit 501c3 educational corporation rooted on the principles of liberty and virtue our nation was founded on, and focused on promoting these principles, values, and virtues in the home and family, particularly through the women and mothers of America.
